Somerville MA

Somerville Massachusetts is a vibrant city where residents appreciate the walkable neighborhoods, progressive municipal government, active arts community, and many squares that are home to cafes, coffee shops, restaurants, pubs and boutiques.  14 Packard Ave is located between two of Somerville's most popular squares - Davis Square and Teele Square.  Tufts University is close by.

Davis Square

Davis Square is arguably Somerville's most popular neighborhood and it's just down the street from 14 Packard Ave.  Davis Square's appeal is due in large part to the Red Line T stop and the bike path that cuts through the neighborhood.  Over the years, more and more cafes, coffee shops, restaurants, pubs, and boutiques have opened in Davis Square.  Here's a sampling of what you'll find here:
  • Anna's Taqueria
  • Artifaktori
  • Blue Shirt Cafe
  • Buffalo Exchange
  • Dave's Fresh Pasta
  • Johnny D's Restaurant & Music Club
  • Kick*ss Cupcakes
  • Magpie
  • Redbones
  • Rosebud Diner
  • Somerville Theatre

Teele Square

Head out your door in the other direction and you're in Teele Square.  Increasingly popular, new cafes, shops and restaurants have been popping up in the neighborhood - you'll never need to cook again!  Our favorites include:
  • Amelia's Kitchen
  • Holland Street Cafe
  • House of Tibet Kitchen
  • Magnificent Muffins & Bagels
  • P J Ryan's
  • Renee's Cafe
  • Rudy's Cafe
  • Sabur Restaurant
  • True Bistro Vegan Food & Drink

The Bike Path

The bike path is well used year round by bicyclists, pedestrians, joggers and roller skaters. It's also a quick way for commuters to get to the T. The bike path that cuts through Davis Square connects Somerville neighborhoods to the Alewife T where paths continue to Arlington and out to Bedford (Minuteman Bikeway) and to Belmont and Medford.  There are plans to extend the Somerville path to Boston.

Tufts University

Somerville owes much of its liveliness and vibrancy to the local universities.  Tufts University, in Medford and Somerville, was established in 1852 and today brings almost 10,000 students to the area to attend its highly selective college or graduate programs that include Engineering, Medicine, Veterinary Medicine, Dentistry, and the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy.
